Three Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools students are in the final round of winners from the 71st annual National Merit Scholarship Program, announced July 13 by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. They were among the more than 750 additional winners of college- and university-sponsored awards between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study.
The CMS winners are:
- Lawrence He, Providence High -- Northeastern University scholarship
- Thomas Morrow, Myers Park High – Colorado College scholarship
- John Michael Roeder, William Amos Hough High – University of Alabama scholarship
Officials from each sponsoring institution selected their scholarship winners from among the 2026 program finalists who will attend their institution.
